Donations in memory of

Marian Thomas

, c0-founder of the Women’s Fund for Scotland can be made here.

Marian worked for the Scottish Community Foundation for 5 years during which time she was instrumental in setting up and developing the Women’s Fund for Scotland and its grant programme funded by the Scottish Executive. She raised a family of three daughters and was involved with a variety of paid and voluntary work including work as a freelance grants assessor for the Scottish Community Foundation.

The Women’s Fund for Scotland supports charities and voluntary organisations working with disadvantaged women and girls. Since 2002, we’ve given away £1M in grants to over 550 community groups.

These groups provide life changing skills; opportunities to learn and ways to build the confidence of those overcoming domestic violence, poverty, or ill health. Supporting women’s growth, self-sufficiency and social economic equality benefits all of us.

Throughout Scotland communities have been transformed by the imagination, activities and commitment of women championed by the Women’s Fund for Scotland.

The Women’s Fund Advisory Group (below) is made up of volunteers who are interested in the well-being of women in communities across Scotland. The members help raise awareness of the benefits of giving to the Women’s Fund and each contribute their well respected expertise.
