Full description
To run support sessions on particular issues highlighted by young women carers, mental health, sexual health and personal safety. The grant would be used to work with a group of women carers (16+) whose lives have been affected by having had to take on a caring role for a family member usually a parent or a sibling. They would like to run 48 sessions over the course of a year and link in with other agencies who have the specialist knowledge they require. They would also invite health practitioners to participate in some of the sessions. They would run 6 sessions on a particular topic. This project will benefit the community by assisting these young women to overcome the negative impact that their caring role has had on their childhood and early teenage years. 25 people will benefit from this project.
