Full description
The grant will cover the cost of sessional worker costs (£2250), volunteer expenses (£2000), staff training (£750), transport (£750), premises (£2000), insurance £250, administration (£500), publicity (£500) and workshops for young people such as sexual health, emotional wellbeing (£1000). This will allow 18 and under to recruit, train and support a group of young peer volunteers. These will be young women aged 18-25 who are not currently in work, education or training. They will be supported to help young girls who have been abused, with a strong focus on those who have been sexually exploited. Activities will be organised within the centre to help build confidence and friendships and increase young women’s awareness of issues such as sexual health, mental health, self-harm and personal safety. The grant will help to cover sessional workers costs, the expenses of the peer mentors, organisational overheads and guest speakers for workshops
