Full description
The grant will cover establishing a ‘Green Angels’ pilot programme in East Lothian involving girls from the Prestonpans and Port Seton. It will pay for a Development Worker (96 hours @ £16 per hour) £1,536, Refreshment Costs (£6 a day) £48, and Minibus Costs (£50 a day x 8 days) £400. The project will target a small group of eight girls aged between 12 and 18 from Preston Lodge High School in Prestonpans. This school has been identified as it is in an area of high multiple deprivation. The girls will be referred to the project by the school because they are showing signs of depression e.g. anxiety, obsession, isolation, behavioural problems or self-harm. The project will help the participants to cope with their problems by participating in enjoyable group activities and having contact with nature and the outdoors, both of which are proven to have a positive effect on mental health
