The grant will cover the costs of a Song Leader (£500,) a creche (£232.50,) hall hire (£186,) marketing (£60) and catering (£60) for an Outreach Project to comprise a series of five community-based free singing workshops for women in Edinburgh and Leith led by their Choir leader and members of the choir, called Scared to Sing? This will target women who feel excluded from choirs because they believe they have no singing ability. Although Wildfire has a very inclusive ethos and no auditions, these workshops aim to address these fears, help remove this barrier and increase choir membership. Particularly aimed at women with caring responsibilities, children will be welcome. It is estimated 125 women will benefit from the project over the year.
