There is no other local provision for learning English and/or improving literacy and numeracy skills in the deprived Kingsway community in Scotstoun. As many of the women from this community are seeking asylum they want to increase their confidence, increase their integration and help them build friendships working with their trained volunteer tutors. The classes will improve the women’s lives by giving them the skills needed to participate fully in their family’s lives, become active in the community and encourage them to access additional learning.
