Grant will be used to extend current pilot project with a multicultural event for women and children. This will celebrate similarities and differences through photographs, archived soundbites, music, and food. Work is needed in Fife to engender a sense of heritage and understanding of the ways in which people’s previous experiences can be invaluable in shared present and future. They will enable ethnic minority women to record and archive their memories and testimonies of the benefit of future generations – a living history by word of mouth. They will unite women in a common cause to record and document their experiences. These testimonies will provide an important archival resource for use by communities, schools and colleges, researchers and the general public.
