The grant will contribute to the cost of staff and supervision costs (£2,600), volunteer travel expenses (£240), external workshop providers (£1,960), promotional materials (£140) and travel and childcare costs for participants. This will allow The STAR Centre to develop and run a group work programme of activities for 8-10 adult survivors of sexual abuse with a focus on self-care. Activities will include creative expression such as writing, yoga and movement, meditation, drumming, alongside relaxation and mindfulness. Content will be developed in consultation with survivors between February to April 2019 and group work sessions will run from April to June for 10 x 2-hour sessions and repeat from August to October. Up to 20 individuals will benefit immediately as well one volunteer.
