A grant will enable the club to purchase equipment needed for the mainland trips. It will cover the cost of 20 tents (£400), 20 sleeping bags (£1100) and 20 Camping Mats (£300) and contribute to the associated VAT (£200). The additional £160 required for VAT will be raised by the club. The equipment will be used exclusively by the girls in the club. The mainland trips had previously been open to all members. With this funding the club aims to offer a girl only trip. Its availability will encourage young women to join the club and benefit from the contribution the club makes to physical health and wellbeing. The equipment will benefit female club members in the future as well as those currently involved.
