The grant will contribute to the cost of a member of staff (£9723). This will allow Inverness CAB to recruit a new part time worker, working 14 hours per week, with a specific remit of supporting women to maintain their independence and financial security. It will target women who have been affected by changes in the benefits system relating to the introduction of the universal credit system. The worker will support women known to Women?s Aid and will run workshops and training sessions for those attending classes with the Adult Education Service. There will a focus on women whose first language isn?t English and part of the support will be helping them to overcome issues that affect their access to learning and financial support. They expect 725 women to benefit from the project.
