The grant will cover the cost of dance instructors at £30 per hour (£3600); staff travel expenses (£700) and travel of participants who would otherwise struggle (£700). This will support the organisation?s work to engage with vulnerable and disadvantaged groups in the community. Dance Ihayami will work in partnership with five community groups across Edinburgh, Falkirk and Stirling to run a programme of dance workshops either over a 10 or 20 week period, with each session lasting for one hour. The opportunities will target women who are suffering from health problems, are on low incomes, who are carers and come from ethnic minority backgrounds. They expect a total of 350 women to attend.
