Bellshill Women?s Shed is requesting £3,700 of funding towards a £5,500 project of in-depth workshops on practical skills. The project will empower existing members and new beneficiaries with skills for use at home, in the Shed and for local benefit. With space for 12 on each block of workshops, they hope to engage 50 women in crafts such as upholstery, curtain making and woodwork. This will involve qualified, external tutors delivering sessional training to members (£2,200). Other costs include £500 for raw materials, £850 for tools and machinery, and a £50 storage unit. Basic items such as a kettle, crockery, hot plate, toaster etc will also be purchased to allow hot drinks and refreshments during sessions ? particularly in winter (£100).
