£10,000 would contribute towards their £13,290 costs to support for female carers including £5,000 for 3 full-time volunteers, 2 part-time volunteers and 2 volunteer drivers (travel & catering). £4,170 is also sought for bi-weekly activities and excursions (inc. childcare) for 25 beneficiaries. £830 would cover office costs (having recently entered new premises) and contingency for overspends on petrol expenses. The majority of clients are women, many of them single mothers for those with SCD. Many struggle to maintain full-time work or education owing to caring commitments, and neglect their own wellbeing and social lives. Activities such as cooking, sports, trips and training in life and caring skills will build confidence and wellbeing, complemented by information on routes to education and employment.
