The grant will contribute to the cost of workshop planning and facilitation (1,080), room hire (£389), facilitator travel costs (£260) and stationery (£100). This will allow the CIC to run workshops for women affected by domestic abuse in East and Midlothian in conjunction with Women’s Aid. Social isolation is one of the impacts felt by women experiencing abuse; the testimonials from previous pilot work show the difference reading and creative writing can make. Three sets of workshop will be offered over a 12 month period. Each set of workshops will comprise four weekly sessions of 2 hours each, attended by 10 people. A total of up to 30 people will benefit.
