The grant will contribute to the cost of training for 2 course leaders at £450 each (£900); training for six volunteers at £300 each (£1800); an annual licence fee (£250) and craft materials (£375). This will allow the organisation to train staff and volunteers and access resources to deliver a Creative Arts course for women called Peaced Together. Organisations buy a licence to deliver the course and receive ongoing support. At least two individuals from each location must attending the training required. The model uses 5 themed craft projects to encourage women to reflect on their lives and set out on a personal journey from brokenness to hope. The craft projects are completed over a 10 week period. Each project helps the group to explore topics such as beauty, peace with the past and positive choices. The aim is to provide a structured, enjoyable and creative environment for women to develop their skills, confidence and resilience. The organisation plans to deliver a total of four 10 week courses, each with a capacity for 10 women. Two courses will take place in Leith and two in Newington. A total of 40 women will benefit.
