The grant requested is to allow the Chinese school to run a women only programme over the next 12 months. The programme which would be launched on IWD 2011 is designed to work with 30 women who face barriers to engaging fully in the community due to language barriers, issue of self confidence or a lack of social networks. The programme would involve teaching them a range of Chinese skills such as Tai Chi, Chinese drums, ribbon and Chinese Shuttlecock. They will make a series of DVD?s on each skill and will perform at a range of venues across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. They are requesting costs for a lap top and mobile phone contract to support the coordination of the programme.
