Funding would be used to pay 2 session workers to deliver 12 sessions covering areas like confidence building, self- management of mental health issues ie anxiety, depression and issues arising from misuse of alcohol and drugs as well as social activities. It would also pay for the participants travel expenses, posters and leaflets as well as admin costs ? Demand for an additional support group is high – the established on going group is at capacity and has waiting list ? The benefits of the project include enabling and empowering women to discuss their problems in a supportive atmosphere. Have social interaction without drugs/alcohol away from habitual venues and old networks. In addition, the project would increase women?s confidence, and provide information about further education, employment and volunteer opportunities
