Full description
Next year's main event will be held at Dounans Outdoor Education Centre in Aberfoyle. We would like to run smaller events in the lead up to this as well, allowing us to reach women and girls in other areas of central Scotland that can't attend our festival for various reasons (travel, economic, anxiety to larger groups, family commitments). Each smaller session will allow us to work with groups.
For example:
- 1 full day off-road cycling event for girls between 12 and 16 years old with bike hire. Stirling area.
- 2 morning intro to mountain bike session at Cathkin Braes Glasgow, and Callander Estate Falkirk
- 2 morning intermediate sessions/try racing sessions Comrie Croft trails and Dunkeld
- Main event - Dirt Divas mountain bike and gravel festival, Aberfoyle, 7th - 9th June.
Funding will be used towards the cost of coaches and guides, director's administration time, bike hire, essential equipment for events (gazebo, signage, marketing materials), and venue hire. This will allow us to keep tickets at lowest cost possible, with discounted and free options for those requiring financial support.
We will run our full festival over the weekend of 7th - 9th June - with talks from female leaders, adaptive riders, and inspirational films from across the world on Friday evening. Saturday and Sunday we will hold coaching and guiding for women of all abilities from beginners to advanced riders, plus mindfulness sessions, yoga, and maintenance workshops. Sessions will be led by freelance female coaches, guides, mechanics and instructors, assisted by volunteers.
