Investment theme: Building skills and confidence
To fund the cost of running a computer literacy project for ethnic minority women in Dumfries & Galloway.
Amount awarded: £5000
Location: Dumfries and Galloway
The grant will enable the GLOW Women’s Group to participate in basic computer skills training in order to increase their basic skills with the aim to progress to employment or establishing their own social enterprise. They require funding for a tutor, onsite crèche worker, software and materials. The women have progressed from attending ESOL classes and would like to continue to meet in order to increase their job prospects and skills in general. It provides a safe environment for BME women to provide peer support and friendship while learning and getting out the house.
