The grant will contribute towards the cost of the establishment of a new Senior Ladies team at HBBC. The two costs are for hall hire (1×2 hour session for 30 weeks) (£2502) and team ?strips? (£582). Currently, the only option for women over 18 is playing on a HBBC men?s team. The aim would be to have the team take part in the appropriate local league, and there are currently enquiries from 12 interested women. There would be direct benefit for 15 women, and potentially more if coaches etc were included. The club notes that hall hire is particularly expensive, but all other options in the local area are owned by the local authority (same as the school hall they use), and it?s the same price.
