This grant will contribute towards the salary the Senior Coordinator (1.5-hours per week) who will coordinate the support for volunteers which will include (for the year): (1) 4x Volunteer Meetings; (2) 2x Volunteers events (including a Volunteer Awards); (3) 4x Volunteer Reflection Meetings to explore challenges/opportunities; (4) 8x Programme Planning Meetings to include and involve volunteers in planning activities and events. The majority of our volunteers started as participants at Kairos Women+ so this funding will enable us to recognise their contributions to Kairos over the next two years, celebrating their successes and building their skills and confidence (Investment Theme 1). The sessions will also support in the Developing Leadership (IT.5) and Innovation and Growing Social Connections (IT.3). We currently have funding from the Volunteering Support Fund up until 31st March 2023 and we are looking for alternative support for the next 3-years to continue this work as this fund is unlikely to reopen. We’re looking for direct project costs (refreshments and travel) for volunteers, and the coordination of volunteer support. This will allow continued access for volunteers throughout the cost-of-living crisis, and enable us to celebrate their contributions to our organisation in planned activity throughout the year, at a low cost.
