Full description
Lochaber Environmental Group are requesting grant monies to undertake their ?Wheels for Women? project which aims to increase women's participation in biking for active travel and leisure. ?Wheels for Women? can be characterised by a number of flagship activities which will include:
? 12 guided bike rides including route planning
? 6 bike repair workshops
? 6 e-bike loans
? 5 female cyclist profiles (case studies of women who cycle to promote participation more widely across the community)
All activities will take place in and around Fort William and the project will be overseen by LEG?s Environmental Development Officer. The requested grant will specifically support the salary of this staff member for a period of 6 months, as well as additional project related items. ?Wheels for Women? will commence in April 2022 and end in September 2022. LEG estimate that 80 women in the local community stand to directly benefit from project activities.
Budget:
This application is requesting a grant of £5,000.00 which will go towards an overall project cost of £10,000.00. The breakdown of this grant request is as follows:
? Salary project manager (0.3 FTE for 6 months) = £3,900.00
? Print outs (promotional items in the local community) = £200.00
? Online marketing = £100.00
? Bike tools = £200.00
? Bike consumables (tool kits for participants, break cables, gear cables, lubricants and sprays) = £300.00
? Office costs (rent) = £300.00
