To provide a comprehensive training programme to support and empower women who experience disadvantage and live in areas of deprivation. The programme will also address the Scottish Government strategic objective 2/3. Topics on the programme will include Education and Lifelong Learning, Women into Work programme, Assertiveness, Local Politics, Health topics and Breast Feeding. At a local level, within the Parents Support Education Centre, women will have professional advice and peer support with regard to Women’s Health issues, both prevention and treatment for example examination of breast, smear tests etc. Through the afore mentioned, this will ensure better, local and faster access to health care. It is anticipated that 80 women will benefit from this project.
