Full description
We are seeking funding to support the running of our dog-assisted programmes with women and girls in custody who are desperately in need of our support.
Over the next three years we will support 90 women at HMP YOI Polmont to access positive and meaningful activities, improve their wellbeing and mental health, and grow in confidence.
Our expert team will run weekly sessions over the next three years at HMP YOI Polmont, assisted by our team of friendly Ambassadogs.
We will provide the opportunity for the women in custody there to attend either as part of a small group, or individually if they are not yet ready to attend as part of a group.
Sessions will involve fun and engaging activities where our students can learn with the dogs, developing new skills and going on a journey where they discover their own potential and begin to believe in themselves. They will be able to engage in fun learning opportunities, build positive relationships, develop new skills, and progress along the employability pipeline . This will all help them to believe in themselves, build aspirations for a better future, and develop the skills they need to get there.
