Full description
This funding would cover the costs of staff time for 9 months (£1,950.75); outdoor training courses (£970); a speaker on leadership (£100 including travel) and personal protection equipment (£50) to form the ?Women's Workbench? group focussed on teaching women 'typically male' skills such as farm animal handling, woodcraft and Bushcraft. This would be run through the Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub with the activities based in their garden, art studio and joinery. The funding will cover staff time to coordinate the group, plan the itinerary, and facilitate the workshops as well as covering the costs of having experts come to hold workshops. The group will be held fortnightly for 2 hours in the evening over 9 months. Once a month, an expert will come to demonstrate a new skill while on the alternate meeting night, one of the participants would be invited to demonstrate a skill that they have to the rest of the group. Around 20 women are expected to participate.
