The grant will contribute to the costs of sessional workers (4500), volunteer costs (1260), activity costs (3090) publicity (400) and insurance/ liability (750). This will enable the organisation to run a 42 week project – ?Girls Succeed in Life? This will consist of 3 sessions week for 30 young women ages 11-18. (2 day and one evening session). There will also be 10 volunteers who will have a chance to support the activities over the 42 weeks. The sessions will explore: confidence building, sexual health, gender based violence, support for young mums and other topics that the young women are concerned with. Physical activity will also be encouraged through activities in the centre i.e. Gym, dance and sport. There will be outings and a residential. There will be encouragement to develop peer support, volunteering and leadership within the groups.
