The grant will contribute towards 50% of the costs of creative activities for the Women in Recovery (WIRE) group and a Christmas and Summer Outing. Two groups in Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire will participate in 12 hour-long workshops (£25 per workshop – £300) covering drama, tapestry, cardmaking, cookery and flower arranging, delivered by local community-based art tutors and further education establishments. Eight aromatherapy and hand massage sessions will be delivered a local social enterprise (£25 per workshop – £200). The grant will contribute £5 per person for an outing to a Christmas panto and the seaside in summer (£500). The project will provide positive and expressive experiences, opportunities for relaxation and to build positive social networks, improving the mental health of 50 women.
