The grant will cover the cost of employing a new part time project coordinator earning £15 per hour for 7 hrs per week and travel and accommodation costs for volunteers to run classes in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee, Inverness, Perth and Dumfries (£4,000). This will allow the Scottish Centre for Personal Safety to respond to requests from other organisations to deliver their ?Personal Safety & Conflict Resolution Classes for Women and Girls?. These requests have come from organisations including Women?s Aid, LGBTI groups, domestic abuse services and sexual abuse support groups. Although able to deliver this training for free by using trained volunteers, the coordination, planning, booking and management of these activities take time to arrange. The current volunteers are working at full capacity and the organisation has recognised the need for a paid coordinator?s post to help manage the administration work involved in this. They estimate that 300 women will benefit from the project.
