We were open for grant applications from 25 October 2022 until 29 November 2022:
- We received 87 applications with a total requested amount of £403,000 and project costs of £1.2 million
- 22 local authorities were represented
- 61 applications were first time applicants to the Women’s Fund for Scotland
We sifted these applications and 37 were selected to have a full assessment. The 37 assessed applications came from 15 different local authorities. For the first time in a long time the City of Edinburgh submitted the most applications.
At the end of February 2023 we held our grant making panel, again with representatives from groups previously funded by us, and with the funding available we were able to:
- Award 29 projects with a total investment of £125,878
- Funds were distributed across 15 local authorities
- Investments were made in all 6 themes – 5 x Building Skills and confidence, 4 x Combatting poverty and building financial resilience, 3 x Developing leadership and innovation, 4 x Growing Social Connections, 8 x Improving health and well-being and 5 x Moving on from abuse
- 17 were first time applicants to the Women’s Fund for Scotland
- 10 organisations are women led
- The number of women and girls estimated to benefit is over 4,800
