Fundraising is vital for all community groups as no money = no project. Here at the Women’s Fund we are on a mission to fund as many groups as possible! We are open for grant applications and have came up with some top tips for completing the application form…
- DO give yourself plenty of time – we cannot emphasise this enough; it helps with tips 2 – 14!
- DO your research, do your homework and be prepared
- DO read the guidelines and eligibility criteria
- Read them again
- Read them once more – for luck!
- Take notes
- DO contact us if you can’t find the answer you need in our guidelines or eligibility criteria
- DO appreciate that we receive a huge volume of applications and enquiries so are unable to comment on individual applications
- DO plan your answers – look through the list of questions first. It may be helpful to take notes in a separate document you could then copy and paste into the online application form.
- DO avoid jargon
- DO tell us what YOU need
- DO gather all the accompanying documents together in advance (they may be helpful to refer to when answering some of the questions)
- DO double and triple check you have all the correct documents when you submit; if you don’t have the correct documents or miss any out your application will NOT be assessed
- DO check the website for updates before submitting application
- DO ask someone to have a read of your application before submitting
- DO give yourself plenty of time to submit your application; power cuts and crashing computers do (and have) happened
- DO look online for other top tips
