Getting the opportunity to meet with the community based groups and hear their stories makes my giving much more meaningful. -

As a way of bringing people together to support women through grassroots groups across Scotland, the Women’s Fund is a great asset to donors like me. I’ve been able to target some of my giving in a strategic way to improve the lives of women whom I’d never have been able to reach otherwise. -

Legislation has prohibited discrimination against women, but it cannot by itself change social attitudes. Making the best of their lives presents challenges for women that men often never even see. The Women’s Fund for Scotland supports local, community based projects that help women tackle some of these challenges. My family are very pleased to be able to support the Women’s Fund in its excellent work. -

I like giving the Women’s Fund support because I feel its good value. Relatively small amounts seem to make a big difference to the groups and individuals who benefit, and the funds are well-targeted. It is my pleasure! -
Aline Ewan

Aline Ewan was a firm supporter of the needs of women and girls, a wonderful toastmaster, a follower of fashion and a feisty friend. Aline died in May 2022 and will be most desperately missed by all who knew and loved her. Aline wished to always have a home on our website and to be part of everything the Women's Fund for Scotland does asking us "do take me with you in spirit…this year and every year from now on" We will keep you close by Aline - in sisterhood, always -
What our groups say about us
anemptytextlline
“All that explaining why you want to do a girls only programme would take a lot of words and some funders would think it’s not important, not inclusive.” “They were clear what they wanted but not specific about how it had to be delivered – as a charity that is something that we always really appreciate.” “They trusted us and allowed us to be creative and do our thing.” “It was relatively light touch, which is good, but felt we were able to communicate throughout which was great.” -
Funding women is important
anemptytextlline
It is absolutely vitally important to have women only funding. There is very little provision for women. There are many cultural groups where women don’t want to mix. There is a dynamic with women only that is very different to a mixed group and most of the women’s organisations are no longer women only. WFS are possibly the only organisation that’s doing what they do. Without single-sex you are excluding women from participating in things, especially those who don’t or can’t interact with men. -
SCOTINFORM

Charitable giving and support has always been important at Scotinform and we actively seek to share our successes with our community. We are therefore pleased and proud to have made a donation to the Women’s Fund for Scotland. Scotinform has always been run by women and each of the Fund’s Investment Themes struck a chord with us from the start. We were impressed by the structure of the organisation, which allows as much money as possible to go to grassroots organisations across the country, and by its focus on monitoring and evaluation, which will help us to understand the difference that our donation has made. We look forward to seeing the impact! -

I have been involved in the Women's Fund ever since it started. It's great to have money available for locally based groups to undertake work with women and girls and it gives me great satisfaction to help to sustain our funding. Since I retired I do AirBnB in one room in my flat. I tell guests about the Women's Fund and donate a % of my earnings to the Fund. The Women's Fund also keeps donors in touch with women's changing needs which is really important as all the recent crises we have faced tend to impact more on women and girls
