Full description
In October 2021 we ran a very succesful pilot of a teenage girls' cycling week. We now want to expand this into a regular weekly club, with no booking or payment required - just turn up and take part. This will bring together the young girls and women from across our charitable work streams, and provide ongoing support. The project will create a place for the participants to keep coming and experiencing the nurturing benefits of being outdoors. We will do simple adventures in the local area and build up to periodic expeditions to build confidence, life skills and create a time for the participants to explore. The group will be multi-age (11-25), and be based in the Merkinch Community Centre - the traditional heart of the local community, in operation since 1977 (founded and led to a large extent by local women). The group will take bike rides and explore around Inverness, stopping for a flask and a snack and to re-group and chat. We will encourage participants to chose routes that they want to do and we will help assist with equipment as and where required.
We are applying for 2 x Outdoor Leaders for one session per week
We are applying for food provision for each weekly session
We are applying for hire of the community centre for before or after each session
