Full description
Developing MTB in Scotland/Scottish Cycling regulate Trail Therapy. A therapeutic intervention using MTB group rides by specifically trained leaders to reduce social isolation/loneliness focusing on suicide prevention and promoting positive mental health and wellbeing through dialectical behaviour therapy linking the benefits of physical activity in nature.
I'm a trained SMHFA and Trail Therapy leader and will deliver this programme 01/04/24-31/03/2025 in 4x5 week half day session blocks for 8 referred or self referred adult women with a mental ill health diagnosis with two MTB female leaders. The £5000 will cover the cost of the two British Cycling Level 2 MTB Guides and Trail Therapy Practitioner for a total of 20 x half day sessions, bike hire and all PPE for 8 riders per session.
