Full description
The Restore service will provide opportunities for women who have experienced domestic abuse or who have been affected by the sex industry or Human Trafficking. Already we work with vulnerable women within our different services, but we recognise a need to develop a deeper level of support for them.
We have recently purchased a new building and in it we will create a safe space for women to come along to, where we will provide support and help to them gain freedom from their situations. We will set up a Trauma Based Therapy Group for women and if there are children involved, we will signpost them to their GP for counselling also.
In this safe space there will be opportunities for the women to have a shower and wash their clothes if they need to. There will be emergency packs, ?Bags of Dignity?, available for those who need it. These will include clothes, toiletries, sanitary items and emergency fuel vouchers.
We are also going to open a Charity shop for women?s clothes and accessories, a boutique type experience. This will be a social enterprise to provide work placements for women looking to gain work experience. We will continue to partner with Prison Chaplaincy, Teen Challenge, Social Work and Cyrenians.
