Full description
We would like to develop our staff to deliver two key development programmes to ensure we can provide a consistent, quality and scalable service responding to the increasing demand for our services. We currently develop our programmes in house and whilst we are confident of the impact we feel moving to two nationally acclaimed programmes will improve the experience for our users and in turn develop our staff team.
The first programme is Own My Own Life. This is an innovative, creative and educational 12-week course that supports women to regain ownership of their lives when they have subjected to domestic abuse or violence . Our staff would be trained to facilitate the course using short videos, structured discussions, group and individual activities. This would allow us to deliver a programme that could be tailored to individual need and enable us to more accurately measure the impact of our interventions. It also provides the workers with a professional model and a network of support.
The second programme is Escape the Trap. This 8 week programme is designed to help young people to recognise abusive behaviours and identify the impact of such behaviours on their mental health and emotional well-being. Our staff would be trained as facilitators to deepen their understanding of the complex dynamics of teenage relationship abuse, grooming, CSE, sexual coercion and the impact on mental health The programme will provide a consistent, professional model to be rolled out across schools. The training will enable our workers to deliver a consistent programme with a network of support of others who facilitate the programme.
For both programmes we would like to train up to 4 staff who would then lead on the delivery, sharing their experiences and providing feedback on the impact of the programmes. All staff receive regular supervision and support and those involved in this work would continue to be supported in this way.
