Full description
The grant will cover the cost of a part-time Catch 22 Project Worker (7 hours per week for 9 months) plus on costs (£3,679), support and supervision cost (£400), volunteer expenses (£305), staff expenses (£50), staff training and development (£50), printing and photocopying (£100), travel costs for destitute women (£300), and mobile phone costs (£216). This will enable the organisation to deliver a specific support service to destitute women and their families who do not have recourse to public funds and who are particularly vulnerable in terms of housing support and have to rely on making a case to Social Services instead under Section 22 of the Children Scotland Act 1996 related to the care of their children. The handling of such requests for Social Services support are often not being dealth with appropriately and the worker would be able to advocate on their behalf and raise awareness of the issues that they face. They anticipate that they will work with around 45 family members (women and children) to access social services during the project period.
