A £4,440 contribution is requested towards Bringing up Baby (BUBS) Teens which provides support to teenage mothers in Dundee. They run an existing BUBS programme which is open to all young parents, but these new sessions would be targeted at hard-to-reach new teenage mothers. Activities will take place twice a week for 48 weeks and the young mums will learn about parenting and other skills. The requested contribution for these activities is £2,400. Funding will also support childcare (£600), resources and core costs (£240) and marketing (£1,200). Confirmed support for the rest of the project cost is in place from Dundee City Council and Comic Relief’s Communities Fund. 20 young women from various referral sources would benefit.
