GMCT has taken guidance from Women?s Development at the Scottish Football Association (SFA) with regards to their proposal for this programme. The SFA addressed concerns over the low number of women involved in coaching, and their underrepresentation in these roles in Scotland. Some former female participants of the GMCT?s community support programmes have also expressed a desire to develop their coaching skills but often cited the economic barriers and cost in doing so.
