The application will support the development of a group for 40 women at the centre. Funding will pay for football kit for 12(£400), walking boots for 8 (£300),transport for 4 trips for 40 (£400), admission to 4 venues for 40 women (£600), refreshments for the groups (£100), development of a website and production of 1000 leaflets (£200). The group is a response to requests from women users of the centre. It has been operating on a small ad hoc basis since January. Activities have been identified through discussions at this group. There is an existing interest in football because of the development of a women?s team associated with centre. The women?s group proposes to meet weekly in the centre. It will offer its members opportunities to take part in activities of interest and develop social networks.
