Full description
The grant will contribute towards the cost of training (£100), SVQ qualification for participants (£300), materials and catering (£125), sessional volunteer 4 hours a week for 40 weeks (£1600) and creche sessional workers (£228). This will enable them to provide a ?PEEP Progression Pathway? (Peers Early Education Partnership) allowing parents to complete 2 accredited SQA units, during which time they prepare a portfolio on their own experiences as mothers and on their own child's development. In Edinburgh there is an arrangement negotiated with Edinburgh College that all mothers/parents completing the accreditation will be guaranteed an interview for childcare courses. The aim of this programme is to allow mothers interested in childcare as a career to train whilst their children are young and gain relevant accreditations for further education in childcare. 20 women will benefit.
