A £2,000 contribution is sought towards NoW?s £3,300 Chillin? Women project costing £2250 (inc. therapist & materials), with £300 for the venue and a £750 contribution to the core staffing required. This established service provides support to women with mental health issues and/or in recovery from substance misuse. Using aromatherapy, an environment is created in which women can relax. Many come from a background of domestic abuse, and suffer from conditions including anxiety, depression, grief and trauma. Beneficiaries will learn about the benefits of aromatic oils and how they can use them to aid their recovery. Delivering the project is a trained specialist in detoxification and complimentary therapies. With the loss of their current funding, the project is likely to cease without new support. Around 50 women will benefit from 15 sessions over a year.
