Full description
We are applying for funding to continue and grow the work of our MBS Ambassador programme. This training is for young women aged 14+ to mentor younger girls once they have competed the training. The aim is to provide support and inspiration and develop positive relationships with young women. The MBS Ambassadors will provide a resource, helping hand, sounding board and information base. The Ambassadors will be trained to develop and deliver a range of issue- based activities to increase the confidence, self-esteem and awareness of a wide range of issues that affect girls and young women including social media, relationships, body image and career choices / opportunities. MBS ambassadors will also learn physical and mental wellbeing activities such as games, fitness and mindful tools.
The MBS programme will be evaluated throughout and participants will complete a pre and post confidence wheel to enable the programme to meet everyone's needs. A pre wellbeing survey is also condutced and information gathered will inform the programme design and delivery. This programme opens up so many opportunities for the local young women to look beyond the area of deprivation and need, to strive to be something different, to challenge poverty and hardship and all that is connected to it, to meet friends and have supportive adults around them. Leadership skills and achievement are areas that are key to the success of the Ambassador programme and something SHE is very proud to have developed and designed.
