Funding is required to provide 3 crèche workers, arts and crafts materials and transport costs to enable women to participate in a young mums group. The group will meet between 11.30 and 1.00pm each Tuesday and will follow a semi structured programme aimed at increasing confidence, building self esteem, developing skills and exploring volunteering and work opportunities. The class will be based within Gate 55 community centre in Sighthill, Edinburgh. Creche support is required as many of the women are unable to attend due to childcare commitments. Transport is required to visit colleges and other places of interest. Having participated in this course women can apply skills they have developed in other areas of life.
