The first stage of activities for SISU beneficiaries centre on bringing young women into SISU, a safe space to reflect, engage with others with similar experiences, and to disconnect from the system that retraumatised.
Activities in this first stage include:
? 12 week online healing and therapeutic group program led by Satya Dunning ?Welcoming Ourselves Home? (self referral and partner referral options available)
? 12 weeks of individual counselling (developed in partnership with universities)
? peer support (ongoing opportunities facilitated)
? community strengthening
? mentorship and coaching
? mindful movement led by qualified yoga teacher
? Nature based retreat facilitated by Jess Brainch BA (Hons) MSc CPsychol KPsyA
? adventures such a group hill walk and wild swimming session
? cooking workshop by inspirational local female chef Julie Lin
The 12 weeks culminates in a transformational retreat in a nature based setting. Set in the Highlands, we take small cohorts of women to a remote location where we challenge ourselves physically and emotionally, bringing all the learning from the past months together to a point of transition and transformation. All sessions are facilitated by experts in trauma and professionals.
This 13 week (total) project will run twice per year open to two cohorts of women at risk.
