The grant will contribute to the cost of hiring a sessional worker to support the group on Mondays when the club meets. This person is already in place. He is 17 and started off initially as a volunteer but is now studying for a diploma in community work. He attends the sessions and also runs small errands for the members, eg collecting prescriptions. His rate of pay is £10 per hour. He is employed for 5 hours on the day of the group and the group runs for 40 weeks, having a break over holiday periods. The organisation anticipate that their running costs in this first full year of operation will be around £9,700.
