WTS is applying for funding to run 2 x 6 week blocks of Nature Connection and Forest School influenced workshops for women who may be experiencing forms of disadvantage or recovering from domestic violence or forms of sexual or sex based violence. WTS have teamed up with Healthy Valleys who provide services within South Lanarkshire to help promote good physical and mental health through a holistic approach within rural communities. Healthy Valleys have run previous women?s groups and have helped support women with similar challenges. The project aims to support women in reaching their full potential through peer support, networking, improving mental and physical well-being through nature connection, skills learning and sharing through tool work, bush craft and crafting projects, leadership development and over all group participation and confidence building. The programme will be launched at an open day.
Each workshop will take around 16 women.
