Full description
To contribute towards the costs of expanding WTFC's capacity to deliver courses on Millennium Development Goals (MDG) for women in community groups in Glasgow and Renfrewshire, targeting multi-ethnic groups and women with disabilities. MDGs focus on universal issues for women arising from poverty, lack of education, poor health, gender inequality and poor environment, Women from Paisley, who went to Soweto, identified very real issues similar to women in poor communities and began to understand their struggles and are keen to work together for a fairer world. They also acquired new insight, confidence and skills and see themselves more positively as trainers and facilitators, applying this in 2008 with women in local multi-ethnic groups in Gorbals and Maryhill. This application will build on that experience by planning new training opportunities to develop skills further both in the training group and in new local groups. It is estimated that over 100 people will benefit from this project.
